It’s been another busy week in sports media. We’re here to recap the biggest news and events that took place and share some of our best work from the week that was. Without further adieu: 

This may surprise you, but John Kruk was not a fan of all the meetings he had at ESPN – Feb. 7

Kruk admitted one of the things that bothered him the most during his time with ESPN was the constant meetings he had to go to. In true Kruk-ian fashion, he said ignored phone calls when they got in the way of his golf game.

LeBron James calls Frank Isola & the rumor that LeBron wants Cavs to trade Kevin Love for Carmelo “trash” – Feb. 7 

LeBron James wasn’t shy about calling out Frank Isola’s report suggesting he was looking to deal Kevin Love for Carmelo Anthony. James called him “trash” in a media scrum.

Deadspin reports Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski is “close to joining ESPN” – Feb. 8

Deadspin reports Adrian Wojnarowski is close to leaving Yahoo Sports for ESPN. The report suggests if Woj does leave, he’ll bring some members of The Vertical with him.

Mike Tirico will be hosting NBC’s primetime Olympics coverage in 2018 – Feb. 9

Mike Tirico will replace Bob Costas as host of NBC’s primetime Olympics coverage. After 11 Olympic Games, Costas is passing the torch to Tirico, who continues to see his profile grow at NBC.

DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscribers are reportedly in for a major price increase – Feb. 9

Bad news for DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscribers. Prices for the package are expected to jump nearly 10 percent next season. The new cost comes in at just over $280.
