The CW announced Wednesday that the network will once again be the exclusive broadcast home for the Arizona Bowl.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Snoop Dogg would be taking the reins of the Arizona Bowl as its new title sponsor. His Gin & Juice beverage line, co-founded with Dr. Dre, will also be the presenting sponsor, unseating Barstool Sports.
The newly sponsored Arizona Bowl will kick off on Dec. 28. As expected, the game will be televised on a network with wide linear distribution — The CW. The 2024 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, is scheduled to take place on Dec. 28 between a team from the MAC and a Mountain West team.
“As we continue to bring high-adrenaline sports content to The CW, we are excited to welcome the Arizona Bowl back to our air this December,” said Dennis Miller, President, The CW Network. “With the star power of Snoop Dogg fueling the excitement, we are looking forward to capturing even more viewers this year in what promises to be an action-packed football match-up.”
“I am fired up that The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop will be broadcast live on The CW Network,” said Snoop Dogg. “The CW is in almost every home in America making it the perfect place for fans to catch our Bowl.”
“We could not be more excited to welcome The CW Network back to Tucson to deliver a first-class network broadcast,” commented Kym Adair, Executive Director of The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop. “This game will be a ‘must see’ event of the year in both sports and entertainment.”
Last year’s Arizona Bowl on The CW ranked well below Georgia’s blowout win over Florida State in the Orange Bowl on ESPN.
Still, it ranked as The CW’s second-most-watched college football game on record. Wyoming’s win over Toledo averaged 1.102 million viewers on The CW, behind just North Alabama-Florida State back in Week 12 (1.33 million viewers) in the network’s first year airing college football.
