Someone at the SEC league office might be worried for their job after an inexcusable Lone Star State blunder.
As Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian walked out to address the assembled press during SEC Media Days on Tuesday, he strolled on stage to his rival’s music. As captured by Texas A&M beat writer Travis L. Brown, and later shared by On3, Sark marched out to the Aggies’ fight song, not the Longhorns’.

The incident made for a humorous visual, but it didn’t seem to faze Sarkisian. In fact, the Longhorns’ coach didn’t even address the blunder when he took the microphone. Perhaps he’s hard of hearing, or maybe he didn’t want to draw attention to an innocent mistake, but this seems like it’d be a slam-dunk media moment for most coaches.
When it “just means more,” it’s hard to overlook such an egregious error, though. It’s an affront to Texas Longhorns fans the world over. This is pure disrespect from little bro. What if the music operator is a Texas A&M grad? This could be a nationwide conspiracy by tomorrow.
And if you’re a Longhorns fan, can you accept the fact that Sark didn’t say a word? Certainly, Texas looks weak just letting this one slide. Maybe he’s so confident in starting quarterback Arch Manning that he doesn’t feel the need to engage in such lowly hijinks.
Whatever it may be, there’s a lot to dissect here for the Longhorn faithful.
