We didn’t know what to expect regarding Marshawn Lynch and College GameDay. Obviously, Pat McAfee says whatever he wants — within reason — but even he gets hit with the bleep button from time to time. That was the concern with Lynch, but whether that’s actually a reasonable concern depends on who you ask.
While Lynch was tame from that standpoint, he quickly immersed himself as one of the best celebrity pickers in GameDay‘s history. He was no Katy Perry, but he was Marshawn Lynch. And Marshawn Lynch, being Marshawn Lynch, is an excellent source of entertainment, even if he made Jess Sims fear for his life as he mosied around the famous golf cart.

We had to include this tweet — had to.

And it only took one game into the GameDay picks for things to go off the rails.
“There are some great farms here in California. And I think [Marshawn Lynch] just brought me some gifts from one particular farm, and I am very thankful for that… (To Kirk Herbstreit) You know what farm I’m talking about, I think. He can sense it. He can smell it.” – Pat McAfee pic.twitter.com/d8oAnRzpbD

Lynch also got to do Kirk Herbstreit, what Florida State fans have been vying for since last January, putting him in a headlock. The only reason the former Cal Golden Bears star running back did so was because Herbstreit was the lone wolf who picked Stanford over Virginia Tech. He wasn’t exactly picking Cal’s bitter rival to troll the crowd, more so to go against groupthink — and hey, it’s worked in the past!
However, that didn’t stop Lynch from taking matters into his own hands — literally!
Lynch didn’t dare put Nick Saban in a headlock, but the former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach had some jokes of his own. After ribbing Stanford Steve’s love life, Saban came for arguably one of the worst moments of Lynch’s professional career — which, now-retired, he can look back and laugh on.
"Marshawn (Lynch), we may disagree on our pick today, but I’m tellin’ you, man- 4th-and-1 in the Super Bowl at the 1, I’m giving your ass the ball!” – Nick Saban 🏈😂 pic.twitter.com/BVzdzRfxJ5

And laugh he did, as well as the viewers at home.
Well, he did more than laugh…

We don’t deserve Marshawn Lynch.
