Georgia Bulldogs fans showed up at Sanford Stadium on Saturday ready to boo the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They were able to get some further practice at halftime as well.
During halftime of the game, which Georgia won 41-31, fans were informed that Hulu’s TV show Chad Powers would be filming a scene that involved a football team running out of the tunnel and onto the field.
The stadium announcer asked the fans to shower that team with boos and they happily complied.
The crowd was told to boo very loud. Announcer said practice your boos for when Tennessee is here.
I’m told some of the football players on the field are former semi-pro players. #GoDawgs #chadpowers pic.twitter.com/VsoojvlJjk— Alison Mastrangelo (@AlisonWSB) October 12, 2024
The show, which is produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, is based on a skit in which Eli Manning went “undercover” at a walk-on tryout for Penn State. The show was greenlit in February.
According to a Wikipedia page about the series, Glen Powell (Twisters, Top Gun: Maverick) plays Russ Holliday, “a hotshot QB whose career has been nuked, who disguises himself as the titular Chad Powers.” The show also stars Steve Zahn, Perry Mattfeld, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Quentin Plair.
The release date of the show is currently TBD, though we do know Hulu ordered 10 episodes of the series.
