Sometimes, ESPN’s College GameDay waits until Monday to announce where they’ll be heading the next week. This time, it was such a no-brainer that they went ahead and announced it on Saturday during the current show.

During their Week 10 appearance in State College for the Ohio State-Penn State game, ESPN’s pre-game show announced they’re heading to Death Valley next Saturday.

While it might be considered a down year for both programs the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 16 LSU Tigers are both currently 6-2 and fighting for the chance to sneak into the 12-team College Football Playoff. The loser of this game will effectively be eliminated from that race, upping the stakes of what is already one of the most intense SEC showdowns of the year.

Meanwhile, the appearance will also mark the return of Nick Saban to Death Valley, where he routinely led the Tide to victories over the Tigers during his 17 seasons at the helm. He finished his coaching career 13-6 (.684). Before he became a legend at Alabama, he kicked off his SEC legacy as head coach of the Tigers for 5 seasons, winning the 2003 national title.

It should all make for a fun and interesting Saturday as GameDay looks to continue its dominance over Big Noon Kickoff.
