Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry could afford to have a little fun with the media Tuesday night after a 71-68 win over Georgia Tech.
So Shrewsberry whipped out his phone and shared a text he received, from an unknown number, criticizing his coaching.
He received the text during the game.
“I got this text at 10:15, so obviously the game was still going,” Shrewsberry said. “Whoever sent this, I appreciate you, thank you for being cool. ‘WTF am I watching? Do you have any plays written up because holy s*** your team is unorganized as hell.
“‘What are they paying you for?'”

Reporters in the press conference got a good laugh at Shrewsberry’s animated reading of the text.
“I’m glad it didn’t have a name attached to it,” Shrewsberry said. “But that right there, fellas, is a lesson in humility. As good as you feel, some people think you stink.”
Notre Dame is now 10-10 this season and looks much-improved after consecutive 20-loss seasons.
Shrewsberry is in his second season as head coach of the Fighting Irish, which is apparently long enough for someone who shouldn’t have access to his personal phone number to obtain it and fire off an in-game text.
