Nate Burleson joined The NFL Today in 2017, followed shortly by CBS This Morning in 2021, and the former NFL receiver has been the network’s resident fashionista ever since.

On Sunday, Burleson continued his foray into short suits on The NFL Today and caught the eye of Kyle Long.

“Kyle, you got something for me?” Burleson asked.

“Yeah, I do have something for you,” Long said. “I wonder if you’re a big music fan, OK? There’s this band called AC/DC, and you know AC/DC. There’s this guy named Angus. Is this your fashion inspiration right now?”

“Of course! That’s my inspo, bro. If you look at my Pinterest, that’s the first photo you’re gonna see. Come on now,” Burleson said while standing up to show off his legs. “Somebody said I look like Bart Simpson in a suit. Listen, it’s some of the last days of summer. I wanted to have my legs out before it gets cold out here in New York. You see those calves? You see those calves?! Come on now. Those are 45-year-old calves.”

It’s only Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season, and save for an ill-advised Arby’s ad, the new-look The NFL Today roster hasn’t missed a beat.

This summer, CBS announced newly retired quarterback Russell Wilson and ex-NFL offensive lineman Kyle Long, already part of the NFL on CBS family, as new additions to The NFL Today.

NFL fans and sports media members alike had reservations about how Wilson’s personality would translate to television, but CBS appears to be doing what it can to set Wilson up for success. Last week, Long and Wilson launched Set, Hut!, a weekly digital show across NFL on CBS platforms.

“We’re rookies together,” Long told Wilson to start their first episode. If all else fails, the NFL Today rookies can count on Burleson’s outfits to provide TV fodder.
