Kate Abdo made a big change to the way she introduces CBS’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League.
She’s Kate Scott now, officially.
Scott noted the name change on Tuesday’s program, letting Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards know as she let the network’s Champions League Today audience know.

“I did sign an exclusive contract this summer…with my new husband,” she shared as the analysts cheered and celebrated.
She then asked the producer to put her new graphic up on the screen and added “Allow me to introduce myself. Kate Scott.”
Scott married former boxer Malik Scott earlier this month.
Things did get a little weird afterward when everyone stood up to hug Scott and share their congratulations. As Carragher hugged her, he asked “Malik’s not here, is he?”
That’s a reference to drama from last year when Carragher appeared to playfully question Abdo’s loyalty to her now-husband during a live show. Scott responded by alluding to potentially showing up “in a physical manner” if the situation made his now-wife uncomfortable. Carragher later apologized but Kate later admitted she “felt hurt” by the moment.
The studio crew still hadn’t gotten used to hearing “Kate Scott” on Wednesday when she officially introduced herself as such to start the show.

The only problem now is that there might be some confusion between this Kate Scott and American broadcaster Kate Scott, who is currently the TV play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia 76ers and also calls soccer for Fox Sports and CBS Sports. We’ll see who ends up adding a middle initial first.
