The “Doink Cam” is back for an encore performance.
CBS Sports unveiled the concept in last year’s Super Bowl, attaching cameras high up each upright, ready to catch the distinctive “doink” of a kick smacking the goal post.
The network is broadcasting Sunday’s AFC Championship between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, and those “Doink Cams” will be ready for action.
“If anyone DOINKs a kick in the AFC Championship … we’ll be ready,” a post from the NFL on CBS X account read.

Anyway, that’s good information to have because you never know when a “doink” field goal or PAT attempt will send your team on to the Super Bowl … or send them home. The phenomenon has been a thing in recent NFL playoff history. Washington Commanders kicker Zane Gonzalez sent his team to the Divisional Round earlier this month with a doink field goal in a walk-off win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Going a few seasons back, the Chicago Bears suffered a terrible double-doink loss in the playoffs.

Luckily, NFL on CBS analyst Tony Romo, who will work Sunday’s game with Jim Nantz, has some experience calling doinks.

We can’t know what will happen in the AFC Championship, but the Doink Cam will be ready.
