Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young finished a touchdown pass with some flair Sunday, leading CBS Sports analyst Charles Davis to compare him to Steph Curry.
It’s probably the first time a second-year NFL player still trying to prove himself has been compared to an NBA legend, but it certainly worked in this situation.
Young’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Tommy Tremble early in the third quarter against the Atlanta Falcons tied the game at 24.
“The Panthers have come to play,” play-by-play man Ian Eagle said.
At first glance, the pass didn’t appear that remarkable, but the replay revealed Young’s reaction after releasing the ball. Seeing Tremble wide open and the pass on target, Young turned to signal a touchdown before his receiver caught the ball.
“You’ve got a (second-year) quarterback playing well in Atlanta … continuing to grow and elevate his play in Carolina,” Davis said. “And he knew it before the ball even got there. That was Steph Curry throwing up the three and retreating without even seeing it. He knew it as he released the football, the touchdown was there.”

Young has a long way to go if he hopes to catch Curry in the no-look highlights category.
It’s pretty insane that Steph Curry has a no look shot compilation video.

Curry, of course, grew up in Charlotte and starred at Davidson College, a few minutes north of Charlotte.
