Beauty standards for the men and women who appear on television are quite high. As such, networks pay millions of dollars every year for hair and makeup professionals that can make even the most disheveled broadcaster look presentable.
Unfortunately, the CBS hair and makeup team fell a bit short on Sunday. Early on in the network’s pregame show, The NFL Today, it became apparent that studio analyst Bill Cowher had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction…on his face.

It appears that the Super Bowl-winning head coach must’ve run out of black dye for his mustache because there’s no doubt one side of his mustache is a completely different color than the other.
You can’t blame a man for taking steps to improve his appearance, especially if said man goes on TV for a living. There’s been plenty of publicity about Joe Buck’s hair transplants, or the unfortunate camera angle that showed Landon Donovan had one himself. It’s part of the game when you get older. Hair either leaves your head or goes gray.
But as Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy suggested, was there not somebody who could’ve told Cowher what was going on right under his nose? You’d think the beauty professionals at CBS — even if they ran out of dye — could’ve had something done to improve the black and white cookie nature of Cowher’s stache.
Unfortunately, it looks like Cowher is stuck with the look for the rest of the day as there was no improvement during the early afternoon halftime show. Maybe he can Amazon Prime some new dye by this time next week.
