Max Kellerman will make his return to broadcasting this weekend as a part of Zuffa Boxing’s highly anticipated debut.
And when it comes to the fight game, it appears that the former ESPN star won’t be hard to find moving forward.
On Tuesday, Ring Magazine announced that Kellerman will host a new weekly boxing show alongside its senior insider (and fellow ESPN alum) Mike Coppinger. Inside the Ring will debut its premiere episode on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with weekly episodes airing on DAZN.
The debut of Inside the Ring comes in conjunction with the launch of Zuffa Boxing, which will hold its debut event at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday. The card’s main eventers, Saul ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and Terence Crawford, will each appear on the premiere episode, with live shows also taking place following the press conference on Thursday and the weigh-in on Friday.
“This is the type of show boxing has always needed and never had,” Max Kellerman said in a statement. “The Ring has been the sport’s publication of record for over 100 years, and with the new vision for the brand, it is clearly leading boxing into the future. If you want to be prepared for a blockbuster on the level of Canelo-Crawford, you have to watch this show.”
The launch of Zuffa Boxing possesses the potential to be a transformative moment for the sport, as the promotion is funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and promoted by TKO. General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh purchased Ring Magazine in 2024 and the publication figures to play a key role in helping to promote Zuffa Boxing’s efforts to create the sport’s own version of a UFC-like promotion.
As for Kellerman, his assignment on Saturday’s broadcast and new show with Ring Magazine mark his first known opportunities since being laid off by ESPN in 2023. And when it comes to his future in sports media, all indications are that it will very much be one rooted in the sport he’s been most associated with over the course of his career.
