The public issues between Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports have remained relatively quiet since last November.
But on Monday, the country music star seemingly reignited the feud — literally — when he posted a video to his Instagram story of himself burning a Barstool Sports flag before hitting a golf ball off of it.

While it’s unclear what inspired Bryan’s video — which was set to Tyler Childers’ “Bitin’ List” — his previous issues with the irreverent sports brand have been well-documented. Following his highly publicized breakup with Barstool Sports host Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, the Oklahoma native became a repeated target of Dave Portnoy’s, while LaPaglia alleged emotional abuse and revealed she had turned down a $12 million non-disclosure agreement that would have prevented her from discussing their relationship post-breakup.
Unsurprisingly, Bryan’s actions on Monday didn’t go unnoticed. On her own Instagram story, LaPaglia seemingly responded to the flag-burning video with multiple posts, including one in which she used the caption “nurse he’s loose again” and another in which she showed a screenshot of her searching how to file restraining orders.
“I’ve never woken up and had, like, the urge to burn something,” LaPaglia said in a video posted to her TikTok account. “I don’t think that’s a normal thing to — have you guys ever woken up being like, ‘I have to burn something right now. Or else I would implode if I don’t burn something an light it on fire and cause chaos and mass destruction?’ No. Evil villains do that.”

Regardless of what spurred Bryan to post a video of him burning a Barstool flag, this likely isn’t a story that’s disappearing anytime soon. And while Portnoy might have his hands full as one of the new faces of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff, it would hardly be a surprise to see the Barstool Sports founder also carve out some time to make his return to the recording studio.
