The New York Yankees survived to play another day, winning Game 4 of the 2024 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Not only did the Yanks keep their season alive, but they ensured a generational meeting of Yankees enthusiasts to watch Game 5.

According to Tommy Smokes (real name Tom Scibelli), New York sports radio legend Mike Francesa will join the Barstool Sports game watch from their New York office on Wednesday night.

“Assuming the Yankees hold on, we’ve got a big guest joining us in the cave tomorrow night. Mike Francesa,” said Smokes as the Yankees led 11-4 in the bottom of the eighth.

Almost all of his fellow Barstool employees clapped at the news, though one was too glued to his phone to notice.

“We’re pulling out all the big guns,” Smokes added. “Francesa in the building tomorrow night.”

Francesa, who owned the WFAN airwaves for decades, now hosts the Mike Francesa Podcast and did his own game watch during the Yankees’ Game 4 victory.

His son confirmed the news late Tuesday evening.

What does it look like when The Sports Pope gets together with Barstool Sports? Does Francesa even know what Barstool Sports is? Many questions will be answered on Wednesday.

For his part, it doesn’t appear Mike is going to bring much hope with him to the livestream.
