One of the most popular college basketball stat geeks, Ken Pomeroy has tweeted that he’s joining the ever-expanding staff of The Athletic:

Many fans have regularly visited his website, KenPom.com to see his latest college basketball rankings and his blog to see his latest statistical analysis. His analytics became must-read for fans. And his popularity has led to him writing for the New York Times, ESPN.com and Sports Illustrated.

But now he’ll be behind the paywall writing various articles for The Athletic for Seth Davis’ college basketball portal, The Field House. And that means that the site has amassed a staff of experienced writers including former ESPN.com reporter Dana O’Neil, former SI’er Brian Hamilton, as well as former Sporting News and Vice writer Sam Vecenie.

So this brings some statistical analysis as well as regular game stories and reporting on college basketball. And while it may cost a monthly fee to read everything, the stories and writing may be worth the price.

Getting KenPom for The Field House is a big get and to get some exclusive analysis and analytics that aren’t available anywhere else is an attraction for the site. So Pomeroy joins The Athletic and will bring his famed analysis to subscribers.
