Al Michaels has remained adamant over the years that throughout the entirety of his life, he has never eaten a vegetable. And this was highlighted in a hilarious way with a graphic used on the Week 8 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings.
Since first revealing the bizarre fact in a 2012 interview with The New York Times, Michaels has reminded everyone at every chance imaginable that he still refuses to touch vegetables at 79 years of age.
Michaels’ hatred of vegetables was again mentioned on Thursday night, as video was shown on the Amazon Prime Video broadcast of one of his favorite restaurants in Los Angeles called Toscana, which both Herbstreit and Michaels talked about briefly.
“Let’s take a peek at this,” said Herbstreit. “I think this is one of your favorite spots.”
“Been there a couple of times,” Michaels responded about Toscana. “A couple of thousand.”
“Your waiter, Mark, your table, your restaurant, your waiter. Can we get you anything else? Get those vegetables out of here! Perfect, Mark knows.” said Herbstreit.

As a picture of a steak and pasta dish was shown on the screen, a graphic of Michaels’ alleged visits to Toscana was shown to viewers at home, which detailed Michaels’ “stats” at the restaurant, attending Toscana 4,121 times, 3,672 steaks, and still zero vegetables eaten.

Herbstreit and Michael then continued to talk about Toscana, with Herbstreit claiming he “has to stop in there” at some point.
“I gotta stop in there, that’s a beautiful-looking meal,” said Herbstreit.
“Anytime! No veggies baby. No veggies,” said Michaels. “You know who else doesn’t eat veggies too? Puka Nacua, my brother in arms. Zero, oh yeah, Andrew Whitworth told me that the other night. He had dinner with him.”
Nacua was impressed by Michaels’ plate during the TNF postgame show.

Michaels’ questionable diet hasn’t stopped him thus far, as he has over half a century under his belt as a broadcaster. And it sure doesn’t sound like anything will be changing for him anytime soon.
