There weren’t many nice words said about the Pittsburgh Steelers at halftime of Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Baltimore Ravens. Tony Gonzalez, part of Prime Video’s halftime crew, joined in on the chorus of criticism.

The Steelers trailed 21-0 at halftime and in all honesty, it felt like they were lucky to be even that close. At halftime, Charissa Thompson asked Gonzalez what he thought the Steelers needed to do to get back into the game in the second half.

His response was bleak.

“It’s gonna be almost impossible if they play the way they did in that first half,” Gonzalez said. “They looked uninspired. That’s not the Pittsburgh Steeler team that we’re used to seeing — especially with Mike Tomlin and everything that’s riding on the line.”

Gonzalez then went over some missed opportunities. One in particular he focused on was when the Steelers, trailing 7-0 and facing a fourth down — needing no more than a few inches — elected to punt.

“It’s third down and they end up fourth-and-one. And when I’m saying one, not one yard, one inch. Just go for it in this environment. You know you don’t have the team that the Ravens do. I wish Tomlin went ahead and went out there. But this second half, they gotta play better than that. They gotta play some inspired football.”

That ended up being a big moment in the first half. After the punt, the Ravens went 85 yards in 13 plays and scored a touchdown to go up 14-0.
