Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm have been mainstays in sports media. With over 30 years experience from each person, these two women have pretty much done it all and are two of the more respected people in the industry.

Now, it appears that Kremer and Storm will be making a bit of history as they will become the first all-female NFL broadcasting team. Amazon hired the duo to provide commentary for their streaming portion of the Thursday Night Football package, which begins this Thursday with Vikings vs. Rams. They will call 11 games on Thursday nights this fall.

Amazon provides different audio feeds for each game, and will do the same this year. The Kremer/Storm feed will be included along with the Fox feed of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, a Spanish feed, and a UK English feed. Last year, the UK English feed was led by Derek Rae (with Ross Dyer occasionally filling in) and Tommy Smyth. That was my go-to feed because they were so brutally honest with what they were witnessing and it was a breath of fresh air compared to other broadcasts. In order to listen to these feeds, you need to have an Amazon Prime subscription.

It’s unclear as to which of the pair will call the play-by-play and which will provide the analysis, but I would imagine it would be Storm in the play-by-play role and Kremer working as the analyst. And while these two haven’t worked as an NFL play-by-play commentator or analyst on TV, they certainly have earned the opportunity with decades of experience, both in sports and specifically within the NFL, and should be just fine. Kremer herself was recently honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame with the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television award.

If you’re tired of listening to Buck and Aikman, and if social media is any indication, a lot of people are, there’s an alternative on Thursday nights featuring personalities you’re familiar with.
