  • Golf Channel’s live coverage of the first two rounds of the The Players Championship on May 11-12 averaged 786,000 viewers, up 1 percent from 2016’s first two rounds (May 12-13, 2016: 776,000 viewers), but it did skew older, dropping 21 percent among adults 18-49 (119,000 vs. 150,000). Replay coverage in prime time for May 11-12 averaged 245,000 viewers, off 2 percent from last year (249,000 viewers).
  • For the third consecutive time, the week’s top MLB Network telecast involved a New York baseball team. The Houston Astros at New York Yankees in most markets on Thursday Night Showcase (Seattle-Toronto in some) led the week of May 8-14 with 373,000 viewers, up 19 percent from the comparable time slot in 2016 (Kansas City-N.Y. Yankees/Houston-Boston May 12, 2016: 314,000 viewers).
  • NBA-TV’s live post-game coverage after each 2017 NBA Playoff game from May 8-12 — led by the post-game of San Antonio-Houston Game 6 on May 11 (95,000 viewers) — averaged 62,000 viewers, up 7 percent from the year-ago week (58,000 viewers for May 9-13 and 15, 2016).
