The Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders are playing in an AFC Wild Card playoff game right now, and naturally, ESPN is spending much of the broadcast — being shown on ABC — focusing on a player that is not playing in the game.
Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is on Injured Reserve due to a back injury that has kept him out of game action since Week 3, but he was apparently cleared for football activities last week, and ESPN showed us video of Watt working out on the football field yesterday:
They also keep showing Watt on the sidelines, and from all sorts of camera angles. It’s a bit much.

Yes, Watt is the most famous player from these teams, and the quarterbacks in the game stink. But it shouldn’t be too hard to find enough coverage on the players/coaches that are actually a part of a playoff game, especially with the ridiculous plays Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, and Khalil Mack (arguably the best defensive player in the league) are making out there.
