Many of you may have missed the Thursday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers. However, you might be interested to know that many people that tuned into CBS or NFL Network for Thursday Night Football also missed a portion of the game action.
As the Chargers faced a third-and-11 with under five minutes to go in the third quarter, the CBS/NFL Network broadcast cut to a promo of Matt LeBlanc’s new sitcom:
Twitter reacted as you would expect Twitter to react:
Did everyone’s CBS feed cut to commercial just before that play? I completely missed third down

Glad they called Matt LeBlanc for interference there, that was blatant #CBS

what in the absolute hell is going on with this CBS broadcast tonight — Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) October 14, 2016
I would make a snide remark about Matt LeBlanc getting another show, but it’s nice to see a CBS show not centered around grisly murders.

Yes, CBS did just cut away from a 3rd down play for a Matt LeBlanc sitcom commercial

CRITICAL SITUATION AND CBS ROLLS A MATT LEBLANC PROMO?!!?!?!? #TNF #DENvsSD

This is either CBS really trying to get your attention on this Matt LeBlanc show, or someone on the production crew making a pretty massive mistake. (Out of curiosity, have you already forgotten the name of that new show?) Either way, it’s a bad look and left many viewers unhappy.
Eventually, CBS got back to the game broadcast, and viewers got to see the Chargers actually hold onto a lead late — despite their best efforts to blow it — for a 21-13 victory over the defending champs.
