It’s hard to believe that it’s been exactly one year since Stuart Scott has passed. It was on January 4, 2015 when we learned that Scott died of cancer and it led to a huge outpouring of love for the ESPN SportsCenter anchor.

We remember the emotional speech he gave at the ESPY’s in July 2014, where he brought his daughters Taelor and Sydni on stage with him. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house nor in the viewing audience that night.

During the year since his passing, there’s been a memorial fund set up in his name, his memoir was published p0sthumously, Turner Sports’ Ernie Johnson gave his Emmy Award to Scott’s family in another emotional ceremony and Scott’s memory was honored with an internship.

To commemorate the one year since his passing, Scott’s daughters have recorded a message with Dear World, a group that encourages people to share their stories of hope in messages drawn on their skin. One was done for Steve Gleason, the former New Orleans Saints safety who now has ALS.

Taelor and Syndi’s message is quite inspiring and very emotional. It may get a little dusty where you’re watching the video.
