Consider UFC commentator Jon Anik the latest reminder to remember to think before you speak. Before last week’s UFC 196 fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, Anik took to his podcast to make a declaration.

“I’m going to say it here for the masses to hear. I will get the area code ‘209’ tattooed on the inside of my forearm, if Nate Diaz beats Conor McGregor. I got Conor in Round 1.”

Diaz heard the comment and had some choice words for Anik.

Well, we know what happened. Not only did McGregor not win the fight in Round 1 but Diaz ended up winning the bout altogether in Round 2. After the match, Diaz took time to call out Anik over the pronouncement.

“Jon Anik better get a mother*cking 209 tattoo or I’m gonna whoop his little ass.”

So, time to pay up.
