As it continues to provide cord cutters an alternative to cable, Dish Network’s online service Sling TV has added NBA TV to its Sports Extra tier. Customers of Sling TV will notice the addition to the tier today.

Those who subscribe to the Sling Orange service will pay $5 more per month for the Sports Extra tier while those who are part of the Sling Blue service will dole out an additional $10 per month.

NBA fans who subscribe to Sling will get more live games as the league-owned channel airs games on Tuesdays, Saturdays (when ABC isn’t airing games) and selected Sundays.

Pro basketball games on Sling are also available through ESPN, ABC, TNT  and Fox Sports Net (in selected markets).

Along with the recently added NHL Network, Sling has an impressive lineup of sports networks including beIN Sports, Campus Insiders, the ESPN Family of Networks, FS1, FS2, Fox Sports Nets, Golf Channel, NFL Network, Pac-12 Network, and Univision Deportes.

Sports has been one of the attractions for the streaming services and Sling TV has been able to sign up many of the sports networks that fans would want. Is it bringing in subscribers? As of June, it has 700,000 subscribers and is growing quickly.

While Dish Network is losing subscribers, it has some solace in knowing that Sling TV is gaining subscribers and also bringing in new networks as the year progresses.
