Vin Scully

As we celebrate the final year of Vin Scully’s storied broadcasting career, MLB Network will feature the recently-retired Voice of the Dodgers in a new open for the National League Division Series. MLB Network will air Game 2 of the San Francisco Giants-Chicago Cubs series tonight and Game 3 of the Washington Nationals-Los Angeles Dodgers series on Monday.

The open will show Vin Scully walking to his familiar Dodger Stadium broadcast booth and looking onto an empty field with archival footage of some of his most memorable calls over his 67-year broadcast career (Don Larsen’s perfect game, Mookie Wilson’s ground ball in the 1986 World Series and his iconic Kirk Gibson call) and then we see footage of today’s stars (Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper, Anthony Rizzo, Buster Posey and Corey Seager).

Tom Selleck narrates the open and then Vin has the last word. Check it out below:

It’s a great way to start MLB Network’s coverage and also give us one more glimpse of Vin.
