Hockey’s made for some highly-memorable announcing calls, and the one delivered on Saturday’s Boston University Terriers – University of Minnesota Golden Gophers women’s hockey broadcast is certainly up there. The Golden Gophers entered this game ranked second in the country, but the Terriers took them to overtime with the score tied at five. Near the end of the extra frame, BU senior co-captain Natalie Flynn produced a memorable moment that got a great reaction from play-by-play broadcaster Max Wolpoff:

The “Good morning, good afternoon, and good night, Minnesota!” is certainly memorable, and Portnoy (the president of Barstool Sports) obviously loves it. He furthered the argument it’s the best call ever in a Barstool Sports article, leading to plenty of attention for Wolpoff, who seems pretty thrilled by it:

Before this went viral, Wolpoff used that game for the first edition of a highlight reel of his calls. Here’s the full 12-minute highlight reel he put together:
Good for Wolpoff for his passion and enthusiasm here, and for bringing that passion for an overtime winner. That game was a big win for BU (as Wolpoff wrote in a post-game piece on WTBU Sports’ site, Minnesota was the highest-ranked team the Terriers had beaten since a win over #1 Boston College in last year’s Hockey East final), and it got a call to match it.
