LeBron James is just one of those superstars whose every action (and inaction) is dissected in search of meaning. He is one of the few people in the world who could unfollow his team’s Twitter account and have it spark an international incident.

The uproar was so loud that it made its way the Cavs locker room where LeBron was asked about it during a post-game interview. He treated the nonsensical issue with the disdain it deserved.

One would not fault James for getting annoyed by the attention paid to insignificant acts, especially as he’s fighting to get his team back to another NBA Finals. It’s the kind of thing where an eyeroll will no longer do. You simply gotta let it out. So while chatting with teammate Richard Jefferson recently, he couldn’t help himself.

“Why are you eating a banana, LeBron? Does that mean you gonna slip on a banana peel out of Cleveland?”

Some would say that LeBron brings it all on himself and that he shouldn’t have created the distraction in the first place. That of course assumes that James even thought long enough or cared enough to worry about that.

Of course, the joke is back on LeBron after their next game when he’s asked if he really is planning on slipping on a banana peel out of Cleveland.
