As part of the promotion for the NHL’s Stadium Series game in Denver this weekend, MLB Network has dumped a hockey rink into their Studio 42 and doing cross-promotion with their NHL Network studio-mates.
On Tuesday’s edition of Intentional Talk, Heidi Watney showed up for her usual Heidi’s Headlines segment in Studio 42.
While wearing goalie equipment.
And saving shots from NHL Network analyst (and former NHL goalie) Kevin Weekes.
OK, maybe “saving shots” is being a bit generous considering Weekes was barely lobbing those shots at her in the crease.
It *would* be pretty cool if NHL Network used the scale rink more often. The demonstrations that MLB Network breaks out every so often on their scale field at Studio 42 are great, and seeing hockey demos on a scale rink could add a little more pop to NHL Network’s studio shows.
