Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez on the SNY Mets broadcast.

One of the best broadcast booths in all of sports television, whether it be on the local or national level, is sticking together for what appears to be a few more seasons.

Popular play by play man Gary Cohen of SNY will remain as the voice of the New York Mets after signing a new multi-year contract according to the New York Daily News.

Cohen has teamed with former Mets stars Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling for over a decade and the trio has been very popular with the local fanbase and drawn praise from baseball fans nationally as well. They are able to mix a good dose of humor with in-depth baseball knowledge and a balanced perspective that is able to be enjoyed by both fans of the team and neutrals.

Cohen, Darling, and Hernandez finished fourth this year in our annual survey of readers ranking the local MLB television broadcasters.

Cohen has been with the Mets since 1989 when he broadcasted games on radio and also has an extensive career calling college basketball and hockey games.
