It was one of the sillier stories of Super Bowl Week, NBC’s Rodney Harrison telling his Football Night in America co-hort Dan Patrick that if he was playing against Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, he would try to injure him by going for his knees.
Harrison defended his thinking by saying that what the mentality when he played back in the 1990’s into the 2000’s. O.k. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.
It led to Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis to call out Harrison. He did so by using means at his disposal meaning social media:
How can you sit there and say you would intentionally try to hurt another player? #NoRespectForTheGame get this clown off the air!! #RH

It’s crazy to think that I actually use to look up to a guy like @rodney_harrison even after he got caught cheating!

Ah yes, Davis went there. He’s talking about the time Harrison was suspended for using human growth hormone in 2007 while with the New England Patriots.
Super Bowl Week. The time for silly quotes, silly vendettas, silly bets between politicians, silly Media Day and everything but the game.
