It’s been a rough year for Saints CB Brandon Browner. After signing a free agent deal with New Orleans in the offseason to try to shore up its secondary and defense, all Browner has done is being the face of the worst pass defense in the history of the NFL. Browner has committed almost as many penalties as entire defensive units, got in fights with the media, and got in fights with his coordinator. See, it’s all documented here.
One box Browner hadn’t checked off the list yet is “Twitter fight with Hall of Fame NFL player.” He did so on Monday when he got into it with former CBS Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe after Sharpe called him out for his atrocious play.
It started with Sharpe’s thoughts on Browner constantly being picked on during a home loss to the Panthers where the Saints allowed a gazillion points once again…

Given Browner’s propensity to be angry and upset with anyone and everyone this season, I’m surprised this didn’t continue for several rounds. We all know if Sharpe can do one thing, it’s trash talk, and he definitely got the best of the Saints CB here.
The victor in this mini-Twitter War? Shannon Sharpe by first round TKO. Browner continues his season of not being able to win a one-on-one duel without committing a defensive holding penalty.
