Once you get into your 20’s, it seems like the latest social media fads and trends always pass you by. But if you’re on Twitter and follow any popular accounts, you may notice a plethora of tweets from dudes saying “my wife left me.” Who knows how this actually started, but apparently, after 38 seconds of Google research, I’ve discovered that it’s a thing.

So hilariously, SportsCenter decided to highlight one of these tweets after the program tweeted about the USA losing to Jamaica in the Gold Cup semifinals.
I mean, I guess it’s theoretically possible that someone could leave their significant other over the result of a sporting event… but a Gold cup semi? Probably not likely.
For their next act, I want SportsCenter to tweet something involving the number 69 so they can show all the “nice” responses. I still don’t know where that started from…
