What if NBC didn’t actually ever “fire” Donald Trump, but instead made a big public show of cutting ties with the loudmouth former owner of the USFL New Jersey Generals and is secretly funding his presidential campaign as guerrilla marketing for a new reality show to start in the fall of 2016 called From The Penthouse To The POTUS.

It’s a working title.

Sure, it’s a joke, but isn’t the prospect of a media company secretly funding a political campaign for its own gain—wait, isn’t that every campaign—just as preposterous as a guy who couldn’t even get enough support to purchase the Buffalo Bills trying to get enough support to run the free world?

What’s amazing is that Trump thinks he can get elected, not only in spite of, but because of his alienation of women in America. Trump has continued to defend his treatment of women in the media. This week, while talking about the topic of women in combat because this election is apparently talking place in 1996, Trump tried to talk about how women—or at least one woman—likes him.

That woman was Ronda Rousey.

Ronda Rousey does not agree.

It makes good sense for athletes—especially those like Rousey, who make far less money for actually doing their job than on marketing and sponsorship deals—to stay out of all political conversations. Republicans buy sneakers too, and all that.

There are some times where it can be good for an athlete’s career to speak out on political matters. With much of the racial and political unrest going on around the country over the last year, many athletes have taken to social media or public forums—in some cases the football field or the layup line—to express social and political concerns.

A powerful woman in sports coming out publicly to say she wouldn’t trust Donald Trump to run our country after he used her name to make himself look better is probably one of those times where getting a tad political won’t hurt Rousey’s marketability.

In fact, given Trump’s polarizing persona—let’s be honest the guy is an ’80s cartoon villain who decided to run for president and one side of the aisle is taking him seriously enough that media outlets cannot stop covering him—coming out against Trump will probably only help Rousey’s marketability.

Unless, of course, this is all part of NBC’s viral marketing for their new reality show debuting fall of 2016 called From The Penthouse To The Roundhouse—It’s a working titlewhere Trump brings in a group of billionaires who have to sell lemonade on a New York street corner while Rousey kicks them over and over again until each one quits.

Megyn Kelly is rumored to be hosting.
