After a very good start to the 2015 season, NASCAR’s ratings have begun to stall. After the Daytona 500 and the two Sprint Cup series races following it had a ratings increase, the next four races have either flatlined or gone down.

The last race, the Duck Commander 500 at Fort Worth, gave Fox its lowest overnight rating ever, excluding rainouts, for a NASCAR race and this dates back to when the network first got the rights to the sport in 2001. Last Saturday’s race received a 2.9 overnight which is the lowest after a 3.0 for the Richmond race in 2014.

Sports Media Watch says last year’s Texas race received a 2.3, but that was due to a rainout and a re-start the following day.

Fox is hoping that it will be able to get back on track with this week’s Food City 500 in Bristol
