The Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots game on Monday Night Football certainly wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. In a season where games have been poorly played and there have been strange officiating calls, add the Bills-Pats game to the mix.

There was an inadvertent whistle call that negated a potential Patriots score, then the last play of the game which was either out-of-bounds to stop the clock or a backwards step out which allowed the clock to run to end things. Whatever it was, it added to a game which had so many officiating meetings that it extended to 12:02 a.m. ET Tuesday when the window was supposed to end at 11:20 p.m.

Such a strange game and Mike Tirico expressed his frustration as he was signing off:

To top things off, the ESPN SportsCenter put out a cryptic tweet that might have been about replay and officiating or maybe it was a Spygate reference. Who knows? Only the person in charge of the account truly knows.
