For years, longtime fans of Mike Francesa and Chris Russo have been longing for a reunion of Mike & The Mad Dog. Well, those wishes have been granted and those prayers have been answered… sort of.
Mike & The Mad Dog will indeed be reuniting, but it will be for one night only. A charity event at Radio City Music Hall on March 30th to benefit the Garden of Dreams foundation. Russo and Francesa appeared on the radio this afternoon together to make the announcement and #MongoNation lost their ever-loving minds.

Utterly amazing how Mike sounds completely miserable 24/7 and then the second he talks to Dog he has energy and pep. Can't fake chemistry.

It remains to be seen whether this leads to more opportunities, but even the one night only reunion promises to be something special. While both Russo and Francesa have carved out space on their own, it’s nowhere close to what they were able to create as a duo over a couple decades. The idea has been downplayed in the past as ever coming to fruition, but recent hints have been dropped that the door could be slightly ajar. This event leads one to believe that the dream should at least be kept alive and a potential long-term reunion is closer to happening than it ever has been before.
