It’s been six years since the ill-fated “Joe Buck Live” appeared on HBO. While it only had a brief six-month run, you knew that Buck was hoping to get back to the talk show arena, and now he will.

Variety reports that DirecTV has picked up “Undeniable With Joe Buck” which is set to run in the fall over a 10-week span. What’s interesting about the show is the person producing it:

The 10-episode series, which hails from Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Productions, will feature in-depth interviews with sports legends Michael Phelps, Derek Jeter, Troy Aikman, Kelly Slater, Jerry Jones, Wayne Gretzky, Jimmy Johnson and many more.

“Undeniable” has been filming since early August for a planned fall premiere on DirecTV’s Audience Network.

And we have the obligatory quotes from Buck and Vaughn:

“Personally, this is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am excited by the challenge of being able to showcase my abilities as an interviewer, which is not something I am able to do when doing play-by-plays,” said Buck. “When I am on stage interviewing these icons, I am just as excited as the viewer to get to know these icons as people and learn what shaped their incredible journeys.”

Said exec producer Vaughn, “We’re fortunate to have a guest list that includes the best of the best, whose stories of success, failure, hopes, dreams, love and loss transcend sports in a way we can all understand and ultimately relate to.”

The addition of Buck gives DirecTV a formidable lineup of sports talk hosts as the satellite provider already has Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen in its stable.

There’s no word as to when the show will premiere or the actual time slot, but suffice to say that Artie Lange will not likely be on the first episode.
