As the Golden State Warriors set records for fastest start to a regular season, so are the ratings to their games. Comcast SportsNet Bay Area saw its highest ratings ever for the Warriors last week when the team won yet another game, this time against the Denver Nuggets. Last Monday’s game registered a 9.58 rating in the San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose market.

Comcast SportsNet says that is the highest ratings for the Warriors in the history of the network. The previous record was set earlier in the month for a game against the Toronto Raptors which was an 8.65 rating.

For the Warriors-Nuggets game, Comcast SportsNet won the night against all competition and dominated in the key demographic categories (18-49, 25-54). For the season, the NBC-owned regional sports network is really reaping the benefits of airing the defending NBA champions thus far:

  • Year-to-date, Warriors average household ratings on CSN Bay Area are up 64% compared to 2014-15 regular season viewership (6.20, 2015-16 vs. 3.77, 2014-15);
  • Ratings in key advertising demos have posted increased numbers compared to 2014-15, including Adults 18-49 (+57%), Adults 25-54 (+63%), Men 18-49 (+47%), Men 25-54 (+52%), Women 18-49 (+74%) and Women 25-54 (+83%)

So as the Warriors are undefeated and looking at the NBA record of 33 straight wins, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will continue to ride the ratings wave and hope that the team never loses a game this season.
