It’s hard to believe that ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike show is well into its second decade. On radio since 2000 and simulcast on ESPN2 since 2005, Mike and Mike is one of those shows that you know is on the radio and will continue to be on the medium for many years to come. The show celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this year at Walt Disney World

When you’re on for as long as Mike & Mike have been, you start to receive awards and accolades. This morning, ESPN President John Skipper went on the show to make a special announcement:

The official announcement from the National Association of Broadcasters notes that Golic and Greenberg will be honored at the NAB Radio Show Luncheon on April 19, 2016.

It’s amazing the pair have lasted so long in a medium that can be so fickle with morning shows, but the fact Golic and Greenberg have remained in morning drive and anchor the ESPN Radio lineup is a testament to them and to the Worldwide Leader.

Yes, it’s a safe show and is the total opposite of Howard Stern, but ESPN executives like it and the show helps to promote the network by having as many network personalities and analysts in the four hour slot it occupies. It may be the target of a former ESPN radio host, but you can see how much it’s coveted by management.
