ESPN’s Adam Schefter was faced with a tough situation on Friday – all of his devices (phones, laptop, etc) were deactivated as if he had been fired.

Obviously, Schefter hasn’t been fired (because it would be huge news), but the entire situation was bizarre and probably quite unnerving for Schefter. Remember, we’re just a couple of weeks out from the beginning of the NFL season – Schefter needs to have access to all of his devices!

To reiterate – ESPN did not fire Adam Schefter. Adam Schefter did not quit ESPN. For the love of all that is holy, don’t freak out. Of course, that didn’t stop Twitter from reading into the situation waaaaay too much.

I can only assume situations like this happen every so often, but when they involve someone incredibly popular and important like Schefter and get publicized on social media, they spin completely out of control.
