New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is hurt, but the severity of the injury is a bit of a question.
During a press conference on Wednesday morning, Patriots coach Bill Belichick wasn’t pleased with a question about a joint statement about Gronkowski’s health, released by the Patriots and Gronkowski on Tuesday.

Here’s the statement that was released on Tuesday.
“During Sunday night’s game, Rob Gronkowski sustained a bone bruise/sprain of his right knee. His status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis and listed accordingly on the practice participation and injury reports. There is no timetable for his readiness to return, which will be determined in the days or hours prior to the appropriate game. Any timetable reported prior to that final determination would be speculative.”
It’s easy – almost too easy, in fact – to take shots at Bill Belichick for the way he handles the media. But…what exactly is so bad about that statement to force Belichick to issue such a terse response to the reporter?
The question that Belichick was asked isn’t in the video, but here’s the jist of it.

Yeah, for once, I think it’s OK to let Belichick off the hook here.
UPDATE: Well now we know the full context of this story, at least from the media side. ESPN’s Michelle Steele says she was the one who asked the question and that the Patriots’ transcript was incorrect.
