Fighting has been on the decline in the NHL, but the gloves still go flying on a fairly regular basis in the mid-professional leagues such as the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Such was the case when the Colorado Eagles and the Florida Everblades got into a massive brawl in the final minute of a 5-1 result.
The term “brawl” is thrown around a lot in hockey, but it’s deserved here as five fights broke out including the infamous goalie fight.
As you might imagine, the fans went crazy. The same can be said for the announcer who went from doing hockey play-by-play to doing commentary more appropriate for boxing.
The fighting is pretty exciting, but the announcer’s reaction really takes this clip to the next level.
The two teams combined for 190 penalty minutes which is the most in the ECHL this season.
