Yesterday, Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall signed his three-year, $30 million contract extension on Monday afternoon. What’s unique is that he did so on The View. But, before he signed the contract, he discussed his struggle with borderline personality disorder.

Marshall and his wife Michi also announced they were going to pledge $1 million to the mental health community.

It’s great to see Marshall using his voice and diagnosis to try to help people so they do not have to suffer in silence. He and his wife also founded The Brandon Marshall Foundation, which aims to promote mental health awareness.

The contract keeps Marshall with the Bears through the 2018 season. Hopefully he will continue to be as successful off the field as he is on it.
