Sports trivia wonks like me are eagerly anticipating the debut of Dan Patrick’s Sports Jeopardy on Crackle.  Details have been released about auditions and Patrick has made note of a few attributes of the show while on the radio, but now we finally have a launch date and weekly schedule.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the debut episode of Sports Jeopardy drops on September 24th on Crackle.  The series will be available on Wednesdays throughout the year.  And perhaps most importantly, an entire year’s worth of episodes have been ordered so you’ll be getting a new episode of Sports Jeopardy every week!  Here’s more…

Sportscaster Dan Patrick will make his game show host debut Sept. 24 with the premiere of Sports Jeopardy! on Crackle.

The Sony-owned digital network has ordered 52 episodes of the half-hour sports-centric show — a spinoff of the Sony-producedJeopardy! — and new episodes will become available every Wednesday throughout the year.

Patrick, host of The Dan Patrick Show, said that Sports Jeopardy! has a “great starting lineup” and added that the show is “the only game show that rewards you for the hours you spend on your couch watching sports and being anti-social, so reward yourself, tune in, and play along.”

Sports Jeopardy! will include interactive components, including a 99-cent mobile app that will allow viewers to follow along with the show. Crackle says more than 30,000 people registered online to audition for the show over the summer.

The number of auditions show there is certainly a market for Sports Jeopardy.  That’s important as the fact that it airs on Crackle means it’s going to have to rely on those hardcore fans to search it out, spread the word, and make it a success.  Given there’s a natural crossover to Dan Patrick’s radio show and his large audience, Sports Jeopardy looks like it has all the makings of sticking around for a while.  I can’t wait.

Patrick’s actually shooting the show today while Mike Florio subs in hosting his radio show.
