How the mighty have fallen. Former USC star and current NFL free agent Matt Leinart recently sat down with the cast of “Draft Day” as a correspondent for “Extra.”
His interview skills are lackluster at best, but he is still great at naming those football plays. Sadly, Leinart actually auditioned for the role of the Browns quarterback, which went to Tom Welling. Does anyone else think it’s sad a Heisman Trophy winner cannot land a role even as a fictitious NFL player?
Some former Heisman Trophy winners go to ESPN. If you’re Matt Leinart, you go to Extra. It’s the next logical step.
If Leinart doesn’t get picked up anywhere for the 2014 season, maybe he can parlay this stint on Extra into an appearance on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
