This clip is a week old, but it just came across our newsdesk and is too good not to share. Themed sportscasts have been all the rage in sports this year and it’s fantastic to see the creativity and ingenuity of local sports anchors get some national attention.
This time we turn to Evans Boston of WGME in Portland, Maine. After the Masters he dedicated his entire sportscast to Augusta, using the famed Masters theme for everything from golf highlights to women’s lacrosse. But the highlight may be the crackling fireplace randomly appearing in the background that takes the viewer to the blissful environment of historic Butler Cabin, sipping some lemonade with close friends Billy Payne and Jim Nantz.
