The Yankees plugged a lot of holes on their team with new faces this winter, and as a result, radio broadcaster John Sterling has had to come up with some new home run calls. We brought you his awful Dean Anna homer call after it happened, but this video also includes his new, wretched calls for Yangervis Solarte and Carlos Beltran.
Never nervous Yangervis? Oh McCann can? “Un curreazo” by Beltran? That apparently translates to “a belting by Beltran”, which is just awful.
In case you’re curious, here’s Sterling’s homer call for Kelly Johnson: “ah Kelly killed it!” Please stop while you’re ahead, John. I’m terrified as to what he’ll blurt out when Jacoby Ellsbury finally hits his first homer as a Yankee.
