Every time a major NFL job opens up, CBS analyst Bill Cowher's name inevitably gets linked to it, despite the former Steelers coach being out of the NFL for seven years now. But as more time elapses, the chances of Cowher returning to the sidelines continue to decrease.
Cowher appeared on CBS This Morning this Friday, and all but ended any possibility on a return to coaching, saying “I’ve never closed the door,, but it’s highly unlikely any time in the near future you’ll see me coach.”
Isn't this the best for everyone? Cowher must be getting sick of being asked about every job opportunity on the market, and at 56, only four current coaches are older than him – Tom Coughlin, Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll, and John Fox. At that age, why would you want to leave a cushy television job for the long grind faced by an NFL head coach?
