The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put forth one of the most pitiful efforts in NFL history on Thursday night as they fell to the Atlanta Falcons 56-14.  The truth of the matter is that the game wasn’t even that close.  As impossible as that is to believe.  The Falcons were up 56-0 after three quarters and that was even after starters like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones were pulled from the game.  Devin Hester even dusted off the mothballs and broke the record for touchdown returns.

Jim Nantz even called the Bucs embarrassing, which might be the biggest condemnation of their effort.  Just what the league needed after the week it’s had, right?

The Bucs are now 0-3 with a 50-burger laid on them and home losses to two teams playing backup quarterbacks.

In short, Tampa Bay.  Woof.

But what if I told you there were several NFL “experts” who picked the Bucs to make the postseason under Lovie Smith?  Highly dubious, right?  This is clearly the worst team in the league by far.  But what if I told you there was one NFL “expert” who even picked them to win the Super Bowl?  It would be the prognostication blunder of the century.  Surely nobody would do somethi…

That’s right, ESPN’s Herm Edwards predicted the Bucs would make the Super Bowl all the way back in May.

Who makes Super Bowl predictions in May?!?

Remember, Herm Edwards gets paid a healthy salary by a billion dollar corporation for his football knowledge.  And Herm Edwards picked the Buccaneers to make the Super Bowl.  Given what we’ve seen so far this season, it boggles the mind.

Herm Edwards picked the Buccaneers to make the Super Bowl.

Herm Edwards picked the Buccaneers to make the Super Bowl!

Herm Edwards… picked the Buccaneers…. to make… the Super…. Bowl.
